How to get to Yamaguchi Prefecture

There are lots of airports in and around Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Yamaguchi Ube Airport and Iwakuni Airport(WILL BE AVAILABLE IN DECEMBER 2012) are rather small but have regular flights from Haneda International Airport in Tokyo.
Kitakyushu airport and Fukuoka airport, which are easily accessible from Yamaguchi Prefecture, are rather large, and have regular flights from another Asian countries such as Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and so on.

Shimonoseki Port International Terminal, one of Japan's most important international ferry terminals, has regular passenger liners from Busan(Korea) and Qingdao(China).
It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the railway Shimonoseki Station, from which you can head for other major cities of Yamaguchi Prefecture.

There are 5 Shinkansen Stations in Yamaguchi Prefecture: Shin-Yamaguchi, Tokuyama, Shin-Shimonoseki, Shin-Iwakuni and Asa. Disappointingly, some trains (Mizuho, Sakura and Nozomi) pass all of these stations, you may need to change trains at Hiroshima or Kokura.
